Kang Sukkeun is a woodworker and artist based in Ulsan, South Korea. His most well-known works are Korean lacquered wood (bowls, cups, objects) with an emphasis on functionality and tradition.
Lacquering wood with natural tree sap is an ancient technique in Korean culture that is still around today. His work has been selected as a finalist for the world-renowned Loewe Craft Prize, and he has been featured and sold in galleries around the world.
